Terri and Todd visit the Yucatan Peninsula region in southern Mexico to study the behaviors and lives of sea turtles. They work firsthand with a team who is working to protect and preserve the turtles. They witness females laying eggs and watch hatchlings venture to sea for the first time.

A Note From Terri and Todd....
If we were ever to create a perfect filming trip, we would model it after our trip to Mexico.
The Tourism Boards in Riviera Maya and Cozumel took amazing care of us, did the planning, and provided us with everything we needed to make a successful trip. We filmed 4 episodes in 8 days, which is a record for us. We owe that success to them and all who were involved in the planning and filming ventures.
Speaking of records, I am pretty sure that our visit was the reason for the record high temps. It was hard to get used to the heat, and we learned that if we jumped in the water in our clothes whenever possible, it helped a lot!

Terri celebrated her birthday on the island!

We learned so much about their culture and developed a tremendous respect for the people of Mexico for their work ethic, friendliness, and strong family values.
We came home with lasting friendships, and we will be returning in the spring of 2014 to visit our friends again!

Special thanks to the Turtle Program at Punta Sur, Cozumel Tourism Board, Amukal Dive Center, CEA Akumal, Mahekal Beach Resort, Riviera Maya Tourism, and Occidental Grand Cozumel.
